This is an installation at Art Fields in Lake City, SC. I created two bathroom doors with the standard binary male/female bathroom signs. I made 1000 ceramic gender neutral magnets. People who saw this piece were asked to visit the website www.projectcanary.org where they could read the story that inspired this piece of art. The story, "Mac's Story" is about my own experiences as a transgender person in relation to navigating gendered bathrooms after the Bathroom Bills swept the nation in 2016. Once the viewers visited the site they were asked to take a magnet with them to remind them of the struggles that trans and nonbinary people face everyday when forced to use a public bathroom.

I drove from North Carolina to California and back again and dropped off these magnets in bathrooms and rest stops to bring visibility to transgender people who are forced to use public bathrooms.
